I've been rated between 1200-1300 for 5 years now with no indication of any upward trend despite hiring a chess coach and studying. There's just no helping some of us!

ELO is based on how well you do against other players, right? If you’re getting better at the same rate as your average opponent, you’d see no increase.

I feel like I'm still learning a lot, but my elo has stalled a bit too. Just going to keep at it.
The child was born on leap day if that makes you feel better.
So technically, they have a 1600 rating before celebrating their first birthday?
