Bought the car just to get attention and you're getting the attention. I don't see the problem. You got exactly what you wanted. It's a fuck ugly car that's shit quality. You bought it just because you wanted to be noticed. Well, play dumb games, win dumb prizes.
That last part is so dumb. How on earth do you not realize you are buying into a scam pyramid scheme type thing with something like that in the contract.
Sorry, no sympathy. I have some sympathy for the Tesla owners who bought theirs years ago before Musk went completely mask off. But Musk has been an overt Nazi since the first cybertruck was released. Do you know what you call an Apartheid baby that platforms and massively promotes Nazis in the name of "free speech" while censoring other voices (see 'cis' as a slur). You call them a Nazi. Musk has been dealing in overt racism, malignant transphobia, and eugenics for years now. If you simply didn't care about this, and still gave that many $100k of your money? I'm sorry, but you just gave $100k to a man you knew was a Nazi. You're a literal Nazi sympathizer. Or, at best, you're a person who cares so little about fighting Nazis that you will willingly give the nation's most prominent Nazi a hundred grand.
So yes, it is absolutely is fair to judge people who bought a cybertruck. They're Nazi sympathizers. I don't know if I would personally engage in such vandalism. But if I was on a jury with such a case before me, I would certainly be practicing jury nullification. Some paint or flat tires is a fraction of what a car like that deserves. That thing should be burned to ashes. That is what should really be done to Nazi symbols like the cybertruck. Here in 2025, if you are driving a cybertruck. There is no way for you to have that vehicle without having every chance in the world to see buying it directly supports Nazis. Every cybertruck is already a rolling swastika.
So what they said way the contract won't let them sell within a year. So they got this recently. There's no way you couldn't know about Musk being a shit this recently, so fuckem, you gave the Nazi money.
I do feel sorry for Tesla owners - pre 2025. People bought Teslas in good faith believing this company was heralding green, emissions free vehicles. Which it more or less did. They weren't expecting the CEO would out himself as a Nazi even if there were clues he was a terrible piece of shit. Being an asshole is one thing but Musk out-Henry Ford'ed Henry Ford.
So if you're going to discriminate, target >= 2025 owners where this is common knowledge, not those before. That said, the Cybertruck is and was a fucking terrible vehicle and deserves criticism on its own awfulness outside of any political dimension.
On one hand cybertruck is a completely unique design and is a delorean of its day - a trash car with unmistakable, unique appearance you buy as an investment. You don't need to be homo for musk to see that this car will jump up in value in 20 years. And people who bought it as an investment are super happy, propably even behind the " vandalize ct movement" while theirs sits in a garage.
On the other hand even without musk being nazi you are incredebly fucking stupid to buy this terrible car from a terrible company who to this day has not made a single good quality vehicle that is reliable or is built to a standard of the avarage cheap toyota. Or hell, even volkswagen. There were multible chances to cancel your preorder and they still bought it. Even after it was revealed you can't sell it.
This is the chickens coming home to roost and teach you about how to spend your money.
A little bit... there's definitely a few people that bought a Swastikar that didn't know it was a nazi car. Generally speaking, those people need to pull their heads out of their asses, and perhaps this will serve as a catalyst.
From a purely legal perspective, I'm curious if the contract would hold up in court, considering there is a concerted campaign of vandalism against the cars.
Do I feel bad they bought a shit car with shit terms? No. He should have been smarter.
Do I feel bad people are targeting his car because of something someone else did? Yes.
It's not like he wrapped the car with a bunch of inflammatory imagery like I've seen some have. He's just got his stupid car and people are fucking with it. This doesn't help crash Tesla. It doesn't hurt Tesla at all. It's misdirected.
Got after Tesla charge stations instead. Go after the dealerships. Go after Elon.
Having bad taste in vehicles and too much money to spend on stupid things doesn't really warrant destruction of property. Being mostly unaware of the political statements of a CEO (which, at the time of the Cybertruck's release or when people were ordering it he wasn't nearly as deep into this crap as he is now) isn't really a crime either...
I do, if the guy bought his shitup truck before it was widely known that Musk was a nazi ballroot. If they bought it in the last year or two, then I don't really mind that much. I wouldn't vandalise someone's property myself, but I won't be losing much sleep over it.
The Cybertruck in particular is very much a Musk Mobile, it's linked quite closely to his public persona and buying one is you telling the world that you admire and want to emulate Musk in some way, or at least be a part of the Musk Fan Club. It would be like if Hitler signed off on a fancy Führer Ford Focus, then cunts started buying it and showing it off. No shits to give for vandalisation in that case.
99% of these bozos bought the thing based on identity. Statistically the CT is proving to be one of the worst put together EV's in automotive history.
Silicon Valley and the techbros have been playing supremacy games for 25 years. So what if just now the hammer drops.
They played sycophant, and didn't want to hear the left's warnings.
Yes, because I don't know anything about them other than they made the mistake of buying a cybertruck. Washable vandalism is fine, but don't do stuff that requires repairs unless you know the person deserves it.
By and large the market for the Tesla cybertruck is going to be people with more money than sense.
Those people I can't really have any sympathy for. My advice to them is to park the truck in your garage and drive literally anything else that you own from what is sure to be a selection of different cars.
For those that purchased a CT at the end of their finances, and could only barely afford to justify it, I feel for them. They can't easily buy something else to drive, and the contract forbids them from selling anytime soon. They put in their orders long before Musk was actively demonstrating how much of a shit head he really is.
These people are just regular folks who wanted a truck, bought the Tesla branded sales pitch, and thought it was a good investment over alternatives like rivian. IMO, they're victims just as much as the government employees that used to work in DEIA departments, and USAID.
Then people are taking out their frustration and causing material harm to those duped by the world's richest man.... Double jeopardy.
None of what Elon did is their fault. People are causing them material harm. You're not hurting Elon with these shenanigans, and you don't know that the person who is suffering is a part of the same club that Elon is. Err on the safe side and leave people's property alone, please.
I don't like Elon, and I don't like Tesla. I have no sympathy for either if they go down in flames. I do, however, feel bad for all those who are being materially harmed by all this horse shit. They didn't ask for this, they just wanted an electric car that goes vroom on batteries.
Edit: seems like a lot of people disagree, that's fair. I want to clarify that the subset of people who own a cybertruck that I have any sympathy for, is a pretty small group.
The fact that some of them have my sympathy, does not, and should not imply that I agree with Elon, support his supporters, or think every person who owns a cybertruck is "good underneath it all". Absolutely not. The vast majority of them are either rich assholes that deserve what they get (eat the rich!) or those that have thoroughly invested into whatever Elon says being the way things should be. In both cases, these are people with no socially redeeming qualities, and 100% deserve what they get. This easily covers 90%+ of owners. The small percentile that went through with their purchase, who are just average Joe's trying to make their way in the world, who thought a battery electric truck is a good idea; those who just happened to land on cybertruck as the result of their decision, and have no horse in this race otherwise... Which again, is a very small number of purchasers, those people I have some sympathy for.
If you disagree with that, then I'll happily hear your opinions on the matter. Please feel free to comment. You're entitled to have an opinion as a free person, and you can express that in whatever way you feel is appropriate.
People are so stupid.
I hate musk > I destroy teslas > damaged car leaves in a contract workshop > income for Tesla ergo for musk > costs paid by the insurance company are passed on to all insured persons.
Even forgetting the Nazism and Musk, those things should be vandalized for being offensive to my fucking eyes. For being a bad product. For being a dangerous product.
I feel sorry for the people who bought a cybertruck ignorantly without knowing anything about Elon Musk. However, how would that be possible in this day and age?
sad ? NOPE! Look at the car to start with, its so ugly and pyramid! Why buy a car with a contract that does not allow you to sell it within a year? He/She knew it, yet he/she bought.
