Linux distro hopping is a fun way to find the perfect desktop operating system

Here's why distro hopping can help find the perfect match between the user and the operating system.

In my experience, I found distro hopping to be a massive pain, as each OS I tried either had terrible performance or a major bug that forced me to change it every week or so. That meant wiping the whole HDD and re-downloading all the software I needed.

In 2022, I hopped from Windows 10 on a 2013 Dell laptop to Linux Mint Cinammon, then KDE neon, Manjaro Budgie and finally Zorin OS, which I found to be the most convenient to use. I also installed Bodhi Linux on another partition in case of breakage.
- Tbf all of those distros except for manjaro are based on Ubuntu, so you really are more like hopping DEs and defaults more than distros. Also, I always tend to prefer the main distro than the spin-offs, so if you are using all of these smaller Ubtubtu-based distros that are breaking why not try Ubuntu itself? It has a much larger userbase and is tested more with more documentation.
