This is a playthrough of someone who knows very little about Minecraft, but who wants to beat the game without looking anything up or getting help from anybody.
There are also two other parts for anyone interested
An hour in and he figured out the nether portal on his own?
I don't buy it. He had to have already known they were a thing that could be activated.
Imo making Minecraft an actual game rather than a meta game of wikis and YouTube should be the #1 priority if Minecraft wants to grow their users.
Every chest found should have a book with a tip. Examples would be hints about the portal, Potion recipes, and hints about breeding animals. It should be possible to play the game without knowing anything from an external source.
Yes you can learn the shape and fill in the blocks. But then nothing happens. You'd have to already know that something could happen to try flint and steel.
Imo the best part of the Ancient city is the red stone area where they show various redstone devices. It makes it possible to discover redstone devices in game rather than relying on YouTube.
