What kind of world building do you practice the most?
I have always preferred creating maps and geography over other types of writing, I love learning about language rules and I occasionally find myself thinking about conlanging in the most random moments
If I had to categorise it, I would mostly call myself a cartographer in the space of world building
What do you prefer? I know some that love creating unique species, others just fucking around with planets, some just like making art for characters they wrote about
The kind where I build everything in my head, write nothing down, forget it in a day or two never to be seen again while I feel sad about not ever developing them properly
Right now, it's been super easy for me to get sucked into developing peoples and the history of cultures, technologies, and nations. I selfhost Trilium and have turned part of it into a wiki for that stuff. I would like to start focusing on the micro-scale at this point, though. It'll be fun for me to start fleshing out cities and the people in them.
Trilium Next is the community-driven successor, but I can't say I'm too familiar with it. I set up my Trilium awhile ago and I don't typically like to stay on the bleeding edge of things. I will check it out if/when I start having problems. :-)
