What are you reading/listening to this week? (August 17, 2023)

Reread of Tower of Dawn by SJM. i know a lot of people didn't like it but I just love it

Finished House of Leaves (very weird, very interesting, would require like 4 more re-reads to actually understand it and I'm not sure I have the strenght for it), started my... 4th? 5th? Re-read of The Goblin Emperor bc someone here asked me for a few words on it and it put me in the mood to dive right in ^^

Finished Shampoo Planet by Douglas Coupland. It was okay. If nothing else, it's worth it to read Coupland just to watch him turn phrases, but the story and characters were too similar to too many of his others.

Started John Dies at the End by David Wong. It's good so far - maybe a bit too self-consciously quirky, but certainly engaging.

I started on The Essential DBT Skills Workbook, this was on the backburner for too long. I read more fanfic too.

Nothing! I'm like 80% of the way though Oathbringer (book thee of the storm light archive), but I haven't listened to it in about two weeks.

I recently hiked Mt Major, and ended up listening to podcasts instead of my audio books.
