I interpreted the title as being reflective in a general sense as in "Don't complain about X because back in the 50s/60s/70s/whatever0s people would do y which is way worse"
I know, and most people who say that have no idea what the other person is feeling. Perhaps it is worse, but at some point big number + 1 stops mattering.
It's better now because people didn't stay put and accept the status quo IMO.
