Apple Intelligence now requires almost double the iPhone storage it needed before
Apple Intelligence launched with 4GB of storage requirements, but now that number has almost doubled already—and adds up with each device.
And it still results in “Siri, bedroom lights 10%” being met with “I can look that up on ChatGPT” instead of fucking working like it used to.
34 0 ReplyWeirdly, 18.2 seems to have made some commands completely broken for me.
I typically use Siri to quickly open apps or look things up and some things that used to work just fine now direct to ChatGPT.

« This made sense, because one of the privacy features of Apple Intelligence is that most of its features run on-device by default. And in order to do that, your device needs to download the AI models—which eats into your storage space.«
Okay

5 0 ReplySo far I haven’t seen any real-world return that’s worth doubling the needed storage.
5 0 ReplyMy AI is still at 2.9 GB, strange.
3 0 ReplyI guess they had an aggressively small model that was a bit too small.
