I’m an indie artist new to Lemmy trying to make his mark on the community. I wouldn’t say I’m a great artist but I am a kind of good artist. One of my favorite things is engaging communities on the internet and making connections. I’m into superheroes, sci-fi, and horror.
So I’m here to ask, what should I draw next? Depending on the response, I may not be able to get to everything, but I may be able to bang a few out over the next few days. Let me know!
The first thing that sprung to mind would be a maker / sculptor kind of deal: A realistic-looking duck except for the fact that it's made from strips of old car tyre.
But I guess OP could imagine and draw that without someone actually making it.
Someone looking out the window of their apartment building into the view of a city where there are mass protests on the streets and riot police are beating people, while a truck load of soldiers in military uniform are arriving on the scene. All while the person in the apartment building is just saying "This Is Fine".
Basically the "This Is Fine" meme but instead of being in fire, it's political unrest happenjng outside.
Why? Because I see a future where climate change is gonna leave a lot of people starving (due to crops dying), a lot of people unemployed, and people are gonna protest, and maybe even riot. Total chaos.
Man, I’m such a horror guy at art, I’d love to draw more scary stuff but my style is so cartoony and cutesy that every attempt results in an abject failure.
On the contrary, the most effective "I'm sorry Jon"s are the ones that juxtapose the banality of everyday with horror. If you did a 4 panel Garfield "cartoony" cartoon, but in the last panel just had a subtle tentacle lying on the table. That could be quite effective! Lol
A cyber dragon. Partly crafted, party genetically modified, it's a specimen that crawled out from the filth of the under city where ancient runes still transmit data from a lost technology.
