I's friday already but I just got home from defending my bachelor's thesis. After struggling for most of the year and questioning whether or not I might even be able to finish on time, I actually just did it. I graduated.
I didn't know if I would be able to manage it, and it has definitely been physically challenging/exhausting for me, but it's so rewarding to succeed. I've never cooked a goose before, so I don't know how it'll turn out, but it should be fine. I managed to trim and truss and all that. Hopefully I'll have the energy when it's done to make some gravy.
Before I became disabled, I cooked all the time. It was a favorite hobby and I was pretty good at it. Now, I struggle with simple things like chopping vegetables. So it's a pretty big win.
I walked to the grocery store .2 miles away and back while still managing to be able to get out of bed the next morning without too much awful pain.
I haven't been able to walk that far in years.
