[DISCUSSION] Light Bringer - Pierce Brown (SPOILERS)
Discussion thread for the latest installment of Pierce Brown's Red Rising series.
What were everyone's thoughts? I had some overall gripes regarding how some plot points from Dark Age were carried over, but overall I enjoyed it, particularly the siege and duel sequences.
Sure! So this book is Book 6 in the Red Rising series, so I’ll give a brief outline about the series in general.
It’s set in a distant future where humanity has colonized and terraformed the solar system, and in so doing divided themselves into a color-based caste system. The hero is Darrow, a Red, the lowest rung on the totem pole. After experiencing unspeakable loss at the hands of the elite Gold class, Darrow undergoes intensive gene therapy to physically impersonate a Gold and infiltrate their hierarchy, with the aim of toppling the caste system from within.
As allies turn into enemies and vice versa, Darrow must navigate the brutal, power-hungry culture of the Golds and make impossible choices to try and make a better future for the entire solar system.
The series starts off very YA in tone, but quickly progresses into a military/political thriller series.
