This is just greenwashing the original plan to add another natural gas power plant. What a scam. “Oh it could eventually run on hydrogen too. In five years. Maybe?”
Ask how hydrogen would be adapted to run in propane plants. Because when hydrogen combusts, it leaves water vapor. When propane combusts, it leaves behind a gas. Water vapor will corrode and react poorly in pressurized systems.
Hydrogen requires radically different systems to combust and dispose of the waste output than propane. Those gas plant folks are lying to people.
