New Poll: Likely Voters Are Tired Of Anti-Trans Ads
A new poll run by Data For Progress found that voters are more likely to support candidates who support trans rights. People also believe political attack ads have gotten out of hand.
When voters are asked whether they are more inclined to support a candidate who backs transgender rights or one who opposes them, voters overwhelmingly choose the candidate in favor of transgender rights, by a margin of 21 points. This trend holds true among Independents, with a 19-point preference. Even 22% of Republicans indicate they are more likely to support a candidate who favors trans rights—a significantly higher percentage than the share of Democrats who would back a candidate opposing them.
Furthermore, voters showed frustration with the wave of anti-trans advertisements. When asked if they thought political attack ads against the transgender community have gotten mean spirited and out of hand, far more voters agree than disagree (+28 points). This finding holds true for independents (+23 points) as well, with even 31% of Republicans finding that there were too many political attack ads.
as it turns out, most people have a member(s) of the LGBTQ+ community in their circle of family, friends, coworkers, etc. and ads calling them "enemy," "vermin," "trash," or whatever the bigot propaganda is saying, doesn't sit well. who would've fucking thought...

Transphobia is common even in the Democratic party, but it's not made into part of the political identity of the party and only appears non-existent compared to the outright trans genocide the Republicans are advocating.

Which, sadly, might be popular enough to win. We live in a world where saying "hang on, we should treat other living beings with decency" is, to some, a heretical position that must be denounced and even threatened with violence.
A little while back I ended up using YouTube for a few minutes without an ad-blocker. Every single video had a transphobic ad.
I didn't think it was possible for me to hold any more contempt for advertising, but somehow they managed it.
That's why Republicans are intent on making sure voters' wishes no longer matter.
Yes, Republicans seem keen on purging voters and making it harder to vote, but the key take-away here is that Republicans probably won't win elections with anti-trans rhetoric. It's just not energizing or helping them politically, at least not electorally.
