School choice activist Corey DeAngelis participated in a GayHoopla adult film called “Super Star Compilation! How Many Strokes Til You Cum?!” before writing his book, The Parent Revolution: Rescuing Your Kids from the Radicals Ruining Our Schools.
This is the same timeline that fails (refuses?) to recognize the dystopian overlap of 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Idiocracy, Margaret Atwood, ... and its own blithely un-ironic trajectory, right?
It's so strange that these types of people choose the GOP, because I don't think most Democrats give a shit about this. It's definitely just them taking on a strong form of projection...
It's sad. These people are just sad people running away from things their "friends" told them are evil. So they then become "the friends" to others. And here we have sad circle of GOP life. Sad people making other people sad.
I'm not a psychologist but there has to be some deep-seated self-loathing from repressing their true sexuality/identity for decades. Or maybe they subconsciously feel "if I can't be who I want to be, you can't either."
I am a Psychologist. They gain status from being assholes, because enough people privilege assholes with status. Authoritarianism requires an outgroup to oppress, and people think that hostility and oppression is 'strength'. The original theory (which is not entirely supported by evidence) of the Authoritarian Personality is based on Freud, and it says that a similar family dynamic of a powerful father who arbitrarily abuses and oppresses others is the basis.
I've got a theory on this: They have gay urges and therefor think everyone has them, so they believe that everyone needs to "choose to be straight" and it's just weak sinners who are giving into their urges.
Also to grandparent: it's allllllll projection with conservatives.
Self-contradiction is inherent to fascism and exclusionism. It is a feature, not a problem. It demonstrates that if you are something the fascists hate, you are immune from punishment if you simply support their cause. The more you support them, the more immune you are. Trump is immune from any criticism, whether it be adultery, rape, bigotry, stupidity, etc. The lower you are, the more you have to earn your protection in case they take control. This is their most important tool in recruitment, whether they understand it or not.
She also questioned how the video of her dancing at a club would be released before videos of Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jeffrey Epstein – both of whom prosecutors allege engaged in sex acts with minors – are released to the public.
Because you were at a public party, you dumb fuck.
The point of the comment wasn't to blame the drag queens. It was to reverse the implicit shame of being, "caught," that's in the title, giving the connotation that it's shameful or embarrassing to associate with the GOP candidate, not the other way around. It was just a little quip that I'm sure I've made much funnier with this explanation.
I love how she said she gets along with everyone and still went on to say that it's "impossible to walk around New York City without running into a mentally ill fa***t." Like, who do you think you're referring to with that statement? Because it seems to me she's referring to the drag queen she "gets along with." At least the hypocrisy remains consistent.
drag queens have a right to... drag? personal life doesn't impact professional life or affect any parties not involved. People should be able to find their happiness in this fucked up world.
And to be more clear. I'm criticizing people who have let their upbringing convince them that something that is none of their business somehow impacts their personal life
It shouldn’t, but the reality is that it does. When someone has a bad day and Karens out, maybe says some especially heinous stuff, maybe says some racist stuff. They usually aren’t at work. They are usually fine at doing their jobs but quite a few people have been fired over stuff like that. That is definitely personal life affecting professional life.
I could keep going, but the reality is that it has become quite acceptable these days to get in professional hot water for what you do when you aren’t on the clock.
Hell, even drug tests at work are usually getting punished in your professional life for your personal life.
I've yet to as well. It is my community so biased perspective but I have met soooo many queers with odd kinks and not a single one is into kids. Many were abused themselves as kids (not always sexually but still) and have no interest in repeating that on anyone else.
Oh it happens. We as a community aren't all angels. Some of us get very VERY warped by religious or cultural trauma where because the base assumption is that we are monsters already by virtue of being something shameful there is a lowered boundary to other shamed behaviours...
But what stops that shame spiral is normalizing queer identities and creating good community with good praxis. Consent is king in so many queer spaces where I am because we've all basically had to imbibe the lessons of therapy to rescue people out of the dark. We discuss gold standards of sexual health and behaviour and conduct with frankness and lack of shame because generations of us were abandoned to places where we were vulnerable to exploitation. To become a pdf file is to lose your community as nothing is so disgusting to people in queer spaces as someone who would cause that kind of damage as it is expected that you know exactly what the knock on effects of that act are.
This is such a weird phenomena, but also a sad one. I'm assuming she does enjoy partying with drag queens but is so ashamed about it that she decides to compensate by rallying against them, sort of like how staunch anti-gay politicians are often caught in gay acts.
Or maybe it was just some drunken lapse of her """moral beliefs""", can't really tell.
NGL, I've met 3 people in my life that are/were drag queens. All 3 have tried to get in my pants even though I'm not gay. HOWEVER COMMA, that was just 3 people in that community. That doesn't define the whole demographic. A person that didn't grow beyond their narrow upbringing probably wouldn't have that kind of perspective. It creates fear and shame for who those people really are. Granted I also was not friends with those people. I didn't know them beyond their persona's and they didn't know me beyond barroom shenanigans. But digressing back to my point, if you grow up in a household where your true feelings of how you should live are suppressed, then that creates shame which puts people like this in this position. It's a way of thought that is quickly diminishing and people are beginning to be able to live how they want regardless of personal opinion. The people who scream against those acts and get caught participating should definitely be criticized, but criticized still with open arms because that's a victory for all parties.
But, I'm a white cis male, so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt
You said it yourself that you didn't know them beyond their personas and they didn't know you beyond the bar. Regardless this doesn't make them pedophiles
Why do use an example of 3 drag queens hitting on you as an example of them doing something bad? I've been hit on by other guys even though I'm straight, and I find it flattering more than anything. It's not like people know your sexual preferences by looking at you.
Not sure what that first point was about. Drag isn't as much of a life style as it is a recreation(at least within the context of the Queer community). When Drag Queens go to work, they aren't doing it in drag. Not sure where you met those three drag queens, but I would guess it was at a party and that you've met many, many more drag queens in your life.
I was trying to express that I understood how and why people would be bothered by drag queens themselves. Very narrow minded perspective mind you, but I still understand it and found a way out of it. I m certain those 3 people didn't mean anything by it. Nor did I mean anything really by saying the number. That's just how. I don't let them represent the entire demographic, but I also understand the perspective of those people that have been acclimated to oppose it
