Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo dies of brain cancer at age 58
Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo, the "larger than life" center who played 18 NBA seasons, has died of brain cancer at the age of 58, the league announced Monday.
Dikembe was a great person. He routinely helped his people in Africa and built hospitals. Always loved watching him play. He may not get the statues like Kobe or Jordan but he deserves them. Rest in Peace.

Damn way too young, one of the funnest players to watch highlights of. Wish his family the best.
Back in the day everytime we swatted a bounce in beer pong, we screamed Mutombo as loud as possible.
Never really saw him play, but dude was just legendary. I don't think any other player has reached that level of public fame from mostly defensive play.
