[Canada] Petition to recognize animals as sentient beings

They're not even acknowledged as sentient beings? The fuck.

Then again nothing surprises me anymore. The cognitive dissonance is off the scale.

It is so sad that veganism has so far to go still when you think about it. Most people definitely believe animals are some kind of automatons with a very purposefully crafted wall of separation between them and their pets and everything else.

The 32 countries that have formally recognized non-human animal sentience include the European Union, Switzerland, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
