The one aspect he doesn't really go into is the geopolitical realignment. With BRICS growing and the world starting to dedollarize, that's going to shrink the power of the west significantly. Mearsheimer frames it as a sort of a frozen conflict between Russia and the west where both sides are in a stable state. However, the reality is that the west is headed for an economic crash that we're already starting to see the first stages of unfold. The kind of civil unrest and violence we're seeing erupt in France and in US earlier will become more and more common, and we'll likely start seeing neoliberal order start to collapse.
