Found $500 that way last year. Windy afternoon, blew into the parking lot from the main road. My thought of "holy shit, cool!" was tempered by the next thought of "this is gonna suck for whoever dropped it".
Yep, it sure does. On a windy day pre-teen me dropped my open purse full of babysitting money on my way to buy ski pants. As I was crying and trying to pick it up, some people stopped by. Some kept the money and took off and some gave it back to me. Wound up with just enough to buy some gators instead.
Car started doing weird things at a red light last week. I got the turn arrow as power steering was failing, but managed to get out of the main road and into a service road before the remaining battery completely expired. My alternator had died. I was glad not to have to manually push the car out of the road. It was raining.
Called a friend to see if they could come help us get it the rest of the way into a parking lot. Their parents had the kids and they were pondering what to do for their date night. They came to our rescue. Heart them the most.
We turned it into a double date and treated them to dinner. They called AAA for us and gave us a tow to the repair shop.
A welcome swallow landed right next to me yesterday. They're usually very skittish and aloof but this one landed on a post about 3 metres from me and stared at me. When I'd had a good look and a little chat, it flew back up to its hiding spot. Not scared or anything, just like "well, I got stuff to do now, human. Catch ya". Very cool little moment.
Didn't hit the suddenly stopped box truck on the highway. The giant pickup truck behind me did not hit me. Leaving enough space in front of me was skill, that the person behind me did as well was the luck.
The AC in my bedroom stopped working last week, but the overnight temps also just dropped down into the 60s, so I can still sleep comfortably with an open window.
Dropped a C-note by accident. When I realized it was missing, I retraced my steps. Found it after ten minutes, in plain sight, surrounded by people who just hadn't looked down.
I loaded a part on a fixture at work and the flatness and runout was all within spec without having to fuck with it. Kinda lucky, saved an hour or so. (The spec was .0005" for both)
