Officials seek nearly $900 million for Union Station, Amtrak projects in Chicago
An ambitious plan to improve and add rail service at Chicago’s Union Station is getting another shot in the arm, with federal and state officials pushing for nearly $900 million in grants for the project.
Chicago railroads, a return of the king?
Man I would love to see Chicago Amtrak get some much needed love.
The way they structure the platforms to force passengers to sit in a waiting room and then line up and get funneled through a single door before they can board is so inefficient and backwards.
Bad design and execution has made the Amtrak just as inconvenient as flying and slower than driving, when it should be the opposite.
And then after being funneled through a single door, having to dodge the luggage carrier that is consistently driving at warp speed down the platform and slaloming around the pillars :S
