The Daily Checkin for Wednesday August 28th - Just for Today, We are NOT Drinking!
Good morning sober family!
We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!
Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.
Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.
It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!
I should probably join you all. The problem is that I'm disabled in such a way that I can barely do anything and it's just so damn boring. I used to be so active. Now I can do things like watch TV and listen to audiobooks.
Any interest in video games? Microsoft surprisingly has quite a few accessibility focused gaming accessories that might help out if you are interested. But I feel you, I’ve been stuck on the couch for the past month up until a week ago with heart shit and it started to drive me insane.
I play video games when I can, but my condition causes a lot of joint and muscle pain, so I can't play most games anymore. And I can't play too regularly.
Any muscle activity leads to pain and fatigue, but especially repetitive motions. Like using your thumb or index finger to click click click click click.
