I cannot remember the last time I could use a malfunctioning alarm as a valid excuse

A couple months ago I was late because I had gotten up, fed the cats, then I fell back asleep the moment I sat down on the couch.

5:45 am

That's when our rooster decides everyone needs to be awake. Doesn't matter that the sun isn't awake, doesn't matter if he's too comfortable to even get off his perch, he's going to crow for a half hour.
