NEW: researchers say #TikTok screen time predicts level of pro-#China views on key topics.
Why? They say #TikTok boosts pro-#China content & actively suppress criticisms of China.
E.g. they find sensitive topics like #Taiwan, persecution of #Uyghurs & #Tibet are buried by pro-#CCP influencer content & irrelevant vids.

If you have a problem with Tiktok but don't have a problem with Facebook or Instagram then your opinion is worthless. At least tiktok makes a good product, so good that American lawmakers are scared because they can't control them.

Tiktok is genuinely terrible, as is Facebook and Instagram (though TikTok is somewhat worse).
You're on Lemmy. People here don't like Facebook or Instagram either.

I'm leaving this up for now, but watch yourself Moderateimprovement. This is the second rage bait like post wrapped in a sandwich of decent posts. If I have to play whack a mole, I'll just ban you. Other users, you're awesome for not playing the game.
9 0 ReplyOh my god, I am tired of bad lemmy mods who are very inexperienced trying to exercise their powers in illogical ways.
I will add this sub to my block list and move on, good luck.
15 0 ReplyBest of luck to you, I hope you find a good community to post in. This isn't reddit.
I am not going to post on this sub again, good luck.
