There was a bet at the time she came into office that she would last less than an iceberg lettuce because of her outrageous policy proposals. She lasted 45 days before the pension funds collapsed and she was replaced, meanwhile, the lettuce persevered in its side dish career.
They can never laugh it off, that's all they need to do, but they don't have the capacity to laugh at themselves.
