The orcs of the misty mountains are called goblins. I think Tolkien used the terms interchangeably.

Going off of memory, in The Hobbit Gandalf talks about Glamdring amd Orchrist, two swords they get from the trolls, and describes them as âforged in Gondolin during the goblin warsâ. Sting came from the same troll horde and itâs assumed that it was a dagger made for an elvish prince.
