Yesterday when I went to see Inside Out 2, one of the trailers was for a "Mufasa" movie, in the style of the last live action remake. What the heck.

Literally the only person I know who liked the first one is a disney adult who also loved the new Mulan. Absolutely bonkers this is getting made.

  It is wild to me how well they have done at the box office. They just kept getting worse and people have only recently stopped going to see them. I wonder if hese do poorly after release, but are big events in the short term.

  Edit: looks like it was announced in 2016 and started filming in 2022. That’s probably why I was thinking it was supposed to come out so long ago.
I tried watching the remake of The Lion King a few years ago. I didn’t make it through the first song. I wish Disney would try something new instead of reboots, remakes, sequels, prequels, and spinoffs.
