Any temprory free OTP number sites you know that works ?
I just want one to sign up for telegram, yes yes I know there can be privacy concerns but I'm only going to use it for piracy anyway and gonna enable 2FA . I don't have any mode of online payment and I'm broke anyway, so it has to be free . Looking back on some old reddit threads some seems to work for the people some don't, but those sites are irrelevant today as most have turned to shit or is shut down . I remember google voice being able to do that but I need to have a phone number to make a google account now so I guess its just jumping through hopes for no reason .
I have tried some top results on DDG which all sucks but do drop your reccomends .
Edit : To clear some mistakes in case I wasn't clear I didn't mean using 2FA for anonymity but so that no one else can log in the acc too as it is a public OTP number .
I don't think the Telegram concerns are just privacy. I've read some mild speculation in other comments that the app may be compromised. 2FA will not protect you against a compromised app.
There is an official foss telegram client in the main f-droid repo. Packages on fdroid are built from source by the fdroid build server, not developers uploading their apks like on play store.
The chance that it's compromised is small but unfortunately the chance that it would be noticed is pretty small too, nobody is reading all the source code of all the apps on fdroid
Eh the thing is I'm routing everything through VPN and I only will use it for piracy and if my number is a temp one too all they can track is what I do there which is just download movies I'm not that much concerned as android sandbox everything anyway . Also I use the Foss version from fdroid .
You can't sign up to telegram with the FOSS version, you have to use the Play store.
Most of the online SMS receiving services seem to work, but people are burning new numbers within the hour to sign up to telegram. Sometimes within minutes.
You can use TON crypto to buy a username, but that requires identifying yourself at third party exchanges.
a vpn doesn't protect you if an app is compromised. vpn is just putting your device into another person's or organization's Network.
I am not really familiar with how android sandboxes apps but I wouldn't trust my phone not being compromised after installing a potentially compromised app.
