PSA: Be careful when travelling to Germany, especially in Bavaria
You can check where you are allowed to consume in public on this website (click the button saying "Verstanden, zeig mir die Karte!", you are agreeing to a no warranty disclaimer): https://bubatzkarte.de
The regulations don't apply to private spaces and only when in sight of the protected locality in the centre of the red circles.
And there are other regulations, so many other regulations...
But hey, I can at least legally consume in the privacy of my own home now, so I got that going for me, which is nice.
Eh, I used to smoke cigarettes. It's the same thing, really. If what someone chooses to do to their body goes beyond that body, it's perfectly acceptable to limit whether it can be done. Same when it causes undue risk (like driving and being impaired).
But, does this apply to edibles, or only smoking/vape? If it is trying to bar being high, it's pretty damn stupid.
The outdoors ban only applies "within sight of or less than 100m away from" places where children might gather, like schools, playgrounds, and so forth, with the idea being preventing them from suffering passive consumption. Which I wouldn't have any problem with if it were applied equally to tobacco and other inhalants as well by the way, but it isn't. Plus as you might see on the image (if I didn't fuck up my resolution too bad) this means that virtually more than half of down-town Berlin is off limits if you want to be on the safe side.
The law says "consumption of cannabis" by the way, so yeah, technically edibles are out too...
You should read this map mindfully: Outside of the Red it is fine to consume.
Inside the red areas you may consume it if you are outside of the sightline of kindergartens, schools, and playgrounds etc.
Maybe not quite that bad, like they still have to apply the federal law, meaning possession and private consumption are still legal and there is nothing much they can do about that. But I wouldn't recommend it without knowing what you can and cannot do very precisely. They will certainly push the boundaries. Just don't consume publicly in Bavaria.
Rest of Germany should be fine if you use the bubatzkarte and don't have more than 25g (~0.88 ounces).
Not (yet) in germany. Currently possession and growing your own stuff, in certain quantaties, is allowed but you can not buy it legally yet. Starting from july there will be social clubs which can sell to members but only without making a profit.
can't relate. live in oregon, prerolls of decent quality can be had for $2.50 or less, and full ounces of flower can be had for under $100 pretty regularly. also it's all lab tested and given a label with THC/CBD levels so you know what you're getting
i mean yeah the big business oligopoly is absolutely a problem, but legal weed has actually just led to so fucking much being grown in professionally controlled environments that the price has fallen through the floor even after taxes and the quality has never been better.
Well please correct me if I'm wrong here, but to my knowledge consumption in private is just entirely unregulated. If you have a house right next to a kindergarten you could consume in there at any time. The part of the law I looked at (§5 KCanG) beyond public consumption just regulates consumption in the "immediate" presence of minors and on military bases.
