Why is there corn syrup in the mayo?

Corn syrup is basically sugar. Lots of fast food chains put sugar into basically everything, because it gets our monkey brains addicted.

For some reason I interpreted the mayo ingredient list as part of the lettuce one and was like "why tf is there egg and stuff in lettuce?"
