Was feeling antsy about my job situation but just heard from my ex colleague about how ex-boss is continuing to be unreasonably snarky and critical to the point that he is pretty much just quiet quitting now despite being one of the most reliable and consistent people in the team. I feel relieved and vindicated in my decision to leave even though I didn't have anything lined up after for a while.
I'm so annoyed right now.. moved into a new role and workload is fucked. It's not going well. Management is ignoring it.
Also a massive massive thing has come about from a client I initially spoke with, spoke to a lawyer about (where another colleague didn't bother), it's now turned into possibly a class action, or at least a shit tonne of work for our firm. I'm getting no shout outs or anything for me recognising the potential. Not even from my direct management.
Had a pizza for lunch. Drying laundry in the sun.
Making a cup of coffee and just relaxing today.
I think it was ok for Arj Barker to ask the crying baby to leave. No hate for kids, but if you take your baby to a comedy show, or any theatre show, and it’s making noise please gracefully exit and let the performers do their craft and people watch the show uninterrupted. Hundreds of people paid for tickets to see a show, not listen to a grumbling baby.
A small tunnel mysteriously appeared in the lounge room while Miss Meow was napping. She has so far determined it does not seem to be a threat and gone back to bed. Time will tell whether it is worthy of more interaction later.
Got removalists arranged. Phew.
Attempts to sell extra furniture are proving futile thus far - one secondhand place fiddled me around for ages before saying no and am waiting on another. A couple more avenues of enquiry... argh. Also hard rubbish has been rearranged, partly because I didn't leave enough room for the bins and partly because it'd been messed up when people rummaged through it. grumbleOne of those days where it feels like the universe is just having a good laugh at me!
The price of my private health insurance (with extras) keeps on going up and up to the point where I don't get enough value out of it anymore. Looking at options for just having basic hospital/ambulance cover and it's still so expensive. Almost $100 a month. Having insurance seems like a luxury these days.
Our favourite air freshener appears to be out of stock everywhere. Woolies and Coles list it as unavailable at all the stores. Bunnings are saying it's deleted. The website is still up, but I think they're going out of business.
This is devastating. I've been using this brand since I met my wife, no idea how long she's been using it. I'm at the point where I'll buy every bottle a store has - 5 year's supply if I must rather than trying to find something else.
I was just about to go to sleep and I got another one of those Medicare phishing messages. Just like last time I reported it through phish.report. pretty much a carbon copy of the last one on friday. With a bit of luck it will probably either be moved into client hold or blocked by safe browsing before all the normies start waking up.
I really wish there was something done about phone number spoofing. I imagine it would become substantially harder for them if these drongos had to actually be A. Within Australia, B. Provide ID, and C. Be subject to the same limits as everyone else
out all day yesterday and dehydration headache was not fun
So the other day I was trying to find a song I was pretty sure was in the hottest 100 of 90-something. Hit the wrong playlist (99) but found a song I liked the song of, but accidentally skipped and ended up on Army by Ben Folds. i got really into to, decided to look it up on youtube and then youtube auto played this Ben Folds - Exhausting Lover
Anyway that's how a series of fuckups have allowed this song to play on repeat 100 times today! Join me tomorrow for livetweeting finding the laundry: Spoiler alert I've almost certainly left a tissue in the pockets again.
I very rarely go on the train. Had to change trains at Richmond en route to the Car on the other side of town. Got to see a lovely contrast of technology, a shiny and quiet new HCMT gliding in like it's the shit, a doddery old diesel V/Line on the next platform, and my train is an old Alstom that looks like a cheap tin can on the outside (I hate the corrugated look) and doesn't sound nearly as quiet as Shiny New Train...
Anyway, this might be the last time I take the train in quite a while. It's pretty cool people watching. There is a guy whose hair is a messy, matted nest, with uneven facial hair and oily skin, dead eyes and a defiant scowl, but he's wearing a clean, fresh, neatly pressed suit and tie! I'm going to guess IT. e: he got off at Malvern and had a nice-looking but well used laptop bag with him. He must be head of IT.
I've got my kids' laptop to auto login to their user and got Gcompris to startup as a default program. I should put an ad on marketplace to convert people's old laptops into learning centres for their kids

you just can't tell who is going to become a stalker, I had one, a guy I had never met and didn't know asked me out, I kindly declined, he got nasty immediately and then stalked for months.
I'm so self conscious and unsure that half the time I think I'm a bad guy. Watching that show , omg, not one thing the abuser did would ever cross my mind.
and lastly, and the most important thing, what this series is about, is male sexual abuse. 😭
Another thing in the show, friends and family, people who love us, will help us. Abuse makes people feel alone, don't let it.

I keep hurting my bad shoulder again. First while pulling the doona up from behind me last night. Then today I pulled a big bag of kitty litter down from a high shelf, lifted it to refill a litter tray, and tore some junk up for the bin
