Yesterday, Rep. John James (R-MI) accused us of being funded by the Chinese Communist Party in response to a protest in the Senate.

While we’ve never taken any money from foreign governments, Rep. James has taken a whopping $165,426 from pro-Israel groups.

Countless people donate their time, energy, money, and so much more to stopping the atrocities Rep. James and his colleagues continue to fund and endorse. It is dangerous and libelous for a sitting congressman to make red scare accusations like this against average citizens exercising their democratic rights and resisting the government’s complicity in genocide. Behavior like this is a grave threat to our democracy and civil society.

We stand firmly against this xenophobic, anti-communist fear mongering. We refuse to watch silently as our government enables the mass murder of Palestinians. We will fight for peace and liberation everywhere, no matter what.
