On Sunday, 7 April METRONET and the people of Perth celebrated the first C-series train to hit the tracks.

So my oldest is obsessed with trains. We just got back from going out to catch this train. Seriously: we caught a train to Perth, found out when the C-Series was coming (in 90 minutes), hung around until then and finally caught the thing to Whitfords and back.
It was fine. A train is a train as far as I'm concerned. The best bit about it was that he got to meet about a dozen other train-obsessed kids.
Okay, i hadn't appreciated how boxy it is.
Cool experience for them, and i'm sure vicariously for you as well.

Edit: whoops, I thought I was replying to @Baku for some reason. I used Melbourne trains as a reference. Yep, it's more snub-nosed than the other trains on our lines, but not much more so than the A series.
I feel like the B series only arrived on the Freo line a few years ago, might have to go out of my way to check these new ones out.
