It’s good to know folks in the industry like him and Sven at Larian are pushing back against all this BS
It is exciting to see a new single player IP come out from Sony, since their exclusive library has been incredibly disappointing this gen being mostly sequels or remakes. Seeing new stuff instead of constant sequels is definitely something I'd like to see more of.
- It's made by the company that made Nikke, not any Sony studio.
  
  For me it just being available only on Sony makes me consider it Sony exclusive. I hope it comes to PC though.
  
  I would have far fewer issues with gacha games if more studios took that gacha money and used it to fund projects like this instead of swimming in it scrooge mcduck style.
I dunno, is this an issue? There have been a lot of successful single player releases in the past few years. I'm glad people feel they need to still exist but I don't think single player games are going to stop being a medium.
In the end, I just think companies are greedy, and that's why we're seeing problems and layoffs in the game industry.
- It's not a massive issue but it could become one. A lot of AAA studios are chasing the dragon that essentially came from mobile games and trying to bring the shady practices to traditional games. Some with more success than others. Remember when almost every publisher were trying to make their own battle royale. They haven't fully given up on that instead they're chasing a more broader live service game. Even though they've went away from just focusing on the same genre but instead the same money making mechanics, these live service games stop l still all feel very similar. That's the issue.
- A bit. We've recently had Arkane and Rocksteady forced to make multiplayer games by their publishers and fail at it.
