Two rideshare apps interested in entering the Minnesota market are being supported by a local rideshare driver group.
Leaders said more than 200 drivers had signed up with Drivers Cooperative, based in New York, and Hich, which operates in Africa and Canada. Uber and Lyft say they are leaving the market by May 1.
I'm really liking the sound of Drivers Co-op - I hope that can take off. As much as I like benefiting from VC burning money to keep prices low, I want the actual workers to benefit from their work.
I kept getting emails from Uber and Lyft to complain to the counsel when they threatened to leave. I instead gave my support. They aren't going to pull out or if they do it won't be for long. If they leave I will use Drivers Co-ops for sure. I might even use it regardless if they get the permits
