I'd like to leave the mod team, and despite a month of low-key poking around I don't see how that's done.

Assuming your community has multiple moderators, message one of the other mods and they can remove you as a mod.
This I've done, and was told they saw no way to do this.
I almost deleted my page trying to figure it out. But here’s what I’ve got for you.
Go to your page and write a comment. Then, from the desktop version, have another mod login and go to the 3 dots next to your comment. There they will see the option to remove you as a moderator
From Lemm.ee, on desktop, you have the option to leave the mod team. I don’t see the same option on Lemmy.world.
