Microsoft snatches Sam Altman and former OpenAI colleagues to form its own AI research team

In another twist on the OpenAI saga that raged over the weekend, Microsoft has swooped in and hired Sam Altman and Greg Brockman.

Satya Nadella said that Microsoft remains committed to its OpenAI partnership.

This was probably in the works and word got out so he was fired.
- This seems like the most accurate speculation I've seen yet. Sam's got a lot of buddies over at Microsoft as they've been working with OpenAI for some time now
