Ngl, I've done like 60 applications at least. Got a few interviews this week. It's so bad, Waffle House and McDonald's rejected me.
Either they want to operate on a skeleton crew to reduce costs, or they don't want to be used as short term stepping stones, so if they look at your resume and suspect even a little that you have upward mobility, you won't be considered. Shit sucks.
I suspect the correct answer to "where do you see yourself in 10 years?" is something like "I don't know, here? Just looking for a long-term job where I can be part of a great team!" Give them your availability, you don't even have to mention you're a student!

4.6 is very good on a 5-scale. Are you in, or have you completed, some sort of continued education? University, college, vocational school? All signs that you'll leave as soon as that's finished or something better comes along.
Do you live with your parents or have large gaps in your resume? Shows that you have some sort of support network and aren't desperate for work. If you aren't desperate, they can't abuse you as much.
Very good, but shows upward mobility. Even though from how it looks, that mobility isn't going to last so well. And I'm in high school lol
I feel like AI fucked up the job market, but not in the "AI took you jobs" way, but I've read at least one article where a staffing company was bombarding everyone with low-quality AI spam applications to convince companies they can't find anyone good and they need staffing companies. Same thing on the other side, lots of AI filtering on job applications, and also companies sometimes leave job ads up even if not hiring to "keep tabs on the market" and have HR departments keep doing something during hiring freezes.
Oh, I've had to talk to the same ai chatbot about 10 times. Questions that could've just been on a normal application. "How old are you?" "Are you a sex offender?" Just yes and no questions.
The next DNC platform should include strong regulations on AI in general but also specifically job postings and their use of it. Enough of this crap.
The EU already has this, but I wonder how many places are breaking the law

There's not quite enough "entry level positions" for the thousands of high schoolers that are applying for their first jobs, much less those that are on unemployment and need new ones. They're much more likely to hire those with actual experience, that me and many others, completely lack.
