Yup, except for the lack of Kate replacement GNOME is my favourite.

it works kinda but there are some features that don't work like adding custom language support
Oh Jesus while I wasn't looking Kate became full on VSCode with the same layout and LSP. At least it's not a webview
Cant you use Kate on Gnome?
