Honestly more intimidating if you use the proper "Bless us our lord for these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord, Amen"

At least that's how I understood it growing up, but who knows, I was just reciting it by rote as a kid and haven't thought about it in years haha
