Everyone else has something fun and I'm sitting here thinking this must be a record of corpses found in a mass grave or something.
If it makes you feel any better, this looks like it’s from an excavation of a medieval cemetery. Burials tend to be oriented on an east-west axis with the head pointing west in those.
