Israel didn't exist yet during WW2, it was just a British colony. Now it's an independent state, and still perpetuates colonialism against arabs. No role switched at any point.
Germany is the second biggest supporter of Israel right after the US. They didn't switch with Israel, they are firmly on the same side.
I think the person you replied to meant in terms of persecution. Germany went after the Jews now they're against that ideology. We see the current Jewish area that is Israel persecuting others. Role reversal, you would think they would treat others better after everything but that's not the case!
That's fair! Though I would argue that equating Israel with the Jews is part of the problem
