a couple chapters in, and so far this reads as a femcel novel

does a book count as a meme? 🤔

  • is the protagonist a good reference of femininity or is it another case of r/menwritingwomen ?

    • it's a (presumably cis) woman author, so it's not anything like /r/menwritingwomen

I wouldn't call it a "good reference of femininity" either, but it is certainly authentic in its feminine characters thoughts and feelings, but more importantly the character feels like a femcel to me.

    • The writer is a woman though? Besides, it's not just about femininity, but being a woman and a "loser"

      • so many femcel tropes in the book so far:

        • bizarre or taboo sexual fantasizing, over-active sexual desire
        • self-loathing
        • being ugly / unattractive
        • alienation, loneliness
        • not having sex, obviously
        • hating other women for being pretty, having sex, etc.
        • depression

        etc.

        It's well written.
