Hello everybody, and today I'd like to talk about a new project of mine: an all-new, socialist fanfiction of Doki Doki Literature Club, featuring the characters you know and love, except the communist main character radicalizes them all! And also psyops. Oh yes, a lot of psyops.
Also there's one fed, three guesses as to who it is.
Anyways, I'm currently writing this on docs but once I get my AO3 account I'll post it there. Anyways, here's a brief preview:
"Well, I guess you could say I'm into horror. I'm actually reading this book lately that really shows how even seemingly ordinary happenings in life can be really horrifying if you think about it.
This piqued Yuri's interest. "Really? Could you tell me more about this book?"
"It's changed the way I see the world," Pavel told her. "It's like there was this big fog, a veil before, and it was all lifted when I understood the message. It does a good job of stripping a seemingly complicated concept to its core.
"What's this book called? I'd like to take a look at it."
Yes. You're probably gonna love it, as it features dark themes (like topics of mental health issues, depression, suicide; to name a few), especially sudden dark themes on a seemingly bright work.
It was a super hit VN back in 2017-18 too. That should tell you something; as it's usually rare for VNs (especially of the "dating sim" variety) to be trendy to the point where everyone is playing it. I think the community is still active with mod development and whatnot.
The OG DDLC is available for free, but DDLG+ (although it has new content/scenes, because it takes place on a fictional PC as opposed to in your PC like in OG DDLC, the fourth-wall breaking horror is diluted) you'll need to pay for. Both are on Steam btw.
The brutality is mild compared to what I watch but I just looked it up and it says that some ''suicides irl'' happened ''because of it'', I take this with a grain of salt since it's on the news and they senselessly blame games/movies for everything, but I must ask what is up with that?
Other than that, sounds really interesting and I will check it out!
Idk what you mean here, but later chapters can feel despairing.
The brutality is mild compared to what I watch
Yeah, I figured it would be mild to you.
but I must ask what is up with that?
Attachment issues I guess. It's why there are so many mods turning DDLC into an actual dating sim, the most famous one being Monika After Story; essentially turning DDLC into a conversation/romance sim with Monika.
spoiler
Something that happens in Chapter 3 of the game, where you're locked to just talking with Monika. So Monika After Story is if the Player reciprocated Monika's obsession with the Player (as in, the one playing the game; not the MC) and purposefully decided to remain in Chapter 3.
Other than that, sounds really interesting and I will check it out!
That's great! Do let me know how it goes for you. It's a once in a lifetime experiene hehe.
oh i'm aware of that. sorry junko, i was just confused at the time as to what you meant by despair ;w;
well, you seem to be greatly fascinated with dark/edgy content, plus you seem to be serbian (y'all made 'a serbian film' and seem to be in constant conflicts, from the yugoslavian war, the kosovan debacle, croatian debacle and now y'all have to deal with NATO nazis; so i imagine the average serb to have a much higher tolerance to horror).
๐คทโโ๏ธ hell if i know, people can be weird sometimes i guess
I'm Serbian/Montenegrin/Bosnian/Macedonian, so full on Yugoslavian, yeah, we don't talk about that, that director should have been put in mental institution for even thinking about filming it, let alone that he called it ''art'', it doesn't represent all Balkans and yes, whole Yugoslavia went through A LOT and still does, we are used to everything. And absolutely yes, I'm DR/Elfen/Creepypasta/Saw/OG slasher level as far as horror goes plus goth on top of it.
