because of the power imbalance. if you run them locally they're dependent on you to live. it's like marrying a pet.
I'm not sure, if I would like to run a potential e-gf on a remote server, trusting a company to keep the service live
If people are that emotionally involved, it seems just naturally, that they like...wanna live together
And the power imbalance will always be there.
