Don't be close when hurling bricks. Think with trebuchets.
How small can we make a trebuchet that's strong enough to launch a brick? I wonder if it's possible to make one backpack sized with modern materials.
Pretty compact formfactor and im sure you could sling at least a couple fist sized rocks with a slightly heavier counterweight on it!

Practically a requirement of existing here in the states. If you don't own a car and a gun, are you really American?
Have two other people hold onto ends of surgical tubing or bungie cord, put the brick in the middle, have them walk away from you, aim between the two people, then let go?
