Given the partisan vitriol he spread today I hate to defend this but:
There is a 99% chance that after the by-election, he will once again be the leader of the opposition and therefore live in that house again.
So with hubris and laziness he is saving our tax dollars by not having to pay for him to move twice in less than a year. Andrew Scheer gave him permission for this as well.
I didn't watch the video but the headline is clickbait and this is a nothing story.
I realize everything you say is correct, but framing is everything. So rather than saying he refuses to leave, we should say he's couch surfing at his bitch Andy's place, but Andy doesn't want to be there with him so he's staying at his other place. Which is also completely correct.

Also his kids are probably just finishing their school year. Forcing them to move and possibly start at a new school with one month left would suck. Especially if its temporary.

I, too, find his behaviour and politics so distressing these days that I get where you are coming from.
But I decided I didn't want to feel that way. So, I redirected the time and energy I used to doomscroll into setting a better example and doing something about it.
I joined Fairvote.ca and organized for their recent door hanger campaign to raise awareness on proportional representation. I also attend their monthly Zoom meetings to educate myself on how proportional representation works, how it reduces polarisation, and how it decreases the inflammatory and partisan words in political speech.
I'm shocked at how many people in my life suddenly perked up and said, " Where can I learn more?"
I know you didn't ask, but this polarised hate feels bad, and it doesn't hurt to share a way of coping that has made my life more centred.
If Trump didnt come in with sanctions he would probably be running the country. If we fall into recession as it seems like we are theres a good chance they get blamed as well, the Cons will beat that horse into the mantle.
Plus it's worth remembering he does have kids and it would be disruptive for them.

The point is not to unpack why PP is a problem. The point is - that he is a problem. I gave one good reason earlier, that suffices. He’s a hypocrite.
If we're debating what "the point" is, it looks to me like pettiness is the point. Why else would someone get emotionally invested into an issue that isn't even bothering Poilievre's own personal political rivals?
Rich kids are still children and not political pawns. And hypocrisy is the least of my concerns around the party shamelessly espousing shitty values, but a meaningful concern around the parties and leaders that claim to be better.
If you're so deeply invested in extracting your pound of flesh, endorse making him pay rent between leadership positions. Alternatively, just choose an issue to champion that is considerably more...productive.

He also lies about his wife sometimes she’s French, sometimes she’s a Latin American refugee (who somehow failed upward into a job at Parliament 🙄). Fact is her social media is full of right wing spew saying she’s gonna be “First Lady of Canada” which clearly demonstrates the American slant of it all. So glad these fucking grifters are not near power any longer . Can’t wait until the CPC turf PP to the curb. Tick tock PP.
