They're not looking down because the genetics are being purified or mismatched in unusual .... and to them unnatural ways.
They'd be pissed because couples chose to inter breed between species and would require lots of genetic engineering and manipulation to make their coupling possible .... the same engineering that was outlawed in the eugenics war.
Bit ironic, considering many of those species are engineered descendants of the progenitors.
I never thought of it before but the Illyrians are, in some ways, carrying on the work of the progenitors.
Which, of course, the Federation put the kybosh on their inclusion because of those decisions.
