What successful or popular movie that many loved you just HATE?

That has to be one of the cringiest movies I've seen, is tries so hard, too hard with it's "WE LOVE YOU NERD, YOU'RE SO COOL FOR PLAYING GAMES AND GETTING THIS 80S REFERENCE" message and the whole "corporation bad, the people good" narrative seems written for toddlers... The fan service feels cheap and adds nothing to the story.
Finally, they trying to make the people believe that very attractive girl with a barely visible red tint spot on her face is "ugly"... Like wtf?
Yet it received decent reviews plus being one of the most successful movies of that year.
I hate that movie too, but because I read the book and it was great. they completely ruined all the story and worldbuilding to make it a shitty feel-good movie for tweens.
The last battle is so much better in the book because for whatever reason, they couldn't get rights to Godzilla and other major popular characters.
Just imagine the whole of the internet, everyone basically, in their avatar's with the best equipment they have gathered and all trying to fight the big bad corp to help the dude who is a nobody that seems to be doing the best at the "game". Five of the people have super avatars that can become giant and are super powered (rewards from previous challenges in the game). So there is a major battle at this castle with everyone in the world and the bad guy turns on his super suit and become Mechagodzilla (which is the biggest and baddest of the 5) and starts killing everyone.
