- Redundant extensions according to you.
Hi there, I have been using Firefox since a long time with these extensions. Do you think if any of those are redundant? Why I ask this is that while using Outlook in Firefox, it's consuming around 1.7 GB of RAM. I don't think it should be using this much amount of RAM for just a single tab of Outlook. Edit: I already use uBlock Origin, but it's not present in the attached pic.

- [RESOLVED] How can i see the file size of a page, counting media?
Does Firefox have a good way to see how big a page is with all the images and other media that are embedded in it? I know about the Page Info button, but i think that only tells me the size of the page's HTML file and loaded media separately. As far as i can tell, it doesn't measure external CSS at all. And the numbers it does give me for my own site are different from the numbers i see from my computer's file browser on my local backup of my website. So is there a good way to know how big a page i visit is?
- Please vote for default bookmark folder on Firefox Android
TLDR; As you (might) know there is no default bookmark folder on Firefox Android. This is bad if you have Sync enabled, because it means that FF will use the last Desktop folder you saved a bookmark into. This means that you don't know where your bookmarks are going, when you want them to go to your Mobile bookmarks folder. Please upvote the thread on Firefox Connect if you think there should be a default, separate bookmark folder on Firefox Android. TIA

- How's is Thunderbird? Does anyone even use it?
I've never heard of anyone using Thunderbird, but I hear about other Firefox users all the time.
I want a new email place. FUCK GMAIL 💥 FUCK GOOGLE! I had to use MS Office for work once, it was okay. Better than Gmail by a mile. But you seriously think I'm gonna use Microsoft? Well, what else is there? If Thunderbird is alright I think I should give it a try.
I also need to find a way to make a new not-gmail email domain. No idea where to go for that. Uh, does Thunderbird have anything?
- Why does Firefox have unblockable ads on the NTP?

- How to undo Firefox changes to the titlebar controls buttons?
Firefox seemingly very recently shipped their own titlebar controls buttons, which worsens even further the lackluster OS integration. In the screenshot you see my regular control buttons on the window to the left (default KDE Plasma theme) and the new custom buttons Firefox is serving now.
Would anyone know how to undo that change in about:config or anywhere else?
- bugzilla.mozilla.org 1802846 - UnifiedPush support
RESOLVED (git+bugzilla) in Firefox for Android - Push. Last updated 2025-07-01.
> Mozilla officially refuse to support UnifiedPush, which was incredibly exciting and something I was eager to see land.
- Has anyone else noticed Firefox becoming more buggy recently?
There's three main things I've noticed. These things only started happening after Mozilla's change in leadership. While they have announced more features since then, I feel like the quality control has gone down a bit.
- Even with the sidebar disabled, the sidebar will show on the side of the screen for half a second after launching Firefox
- Sometimes, the "x" buttons on tabs will stop working. I have to middle-click the window to close it or close that window and open a new one
- The AI popup often gets in the way when selecting text. I think it would be nicer to have it show up in the right click menu after selecting text. I disabled the AI so it won't show up since I never really used it anyways.

TL;DR: Mozilla has shifted from the forced telemetry introduced in Firefox 138 for Firefox Labs. Hours after I posted about the Labs change, Mozilla opened bug 1972647, which describes a change to Labs to allow it to be used when telemetry or studies are disabled.

- How do I find more addons for Firefox on Android?
It's just giving me a list of 'recommended' addons. How do I find the ones that aren't recommended?
Terrible design, by the way. This was definitely made just to make developers' lives easier.
Fix: I was using an older version by mistake. Updating shows the option to get more addons than just the recommended ones at the bottom.
Kind of weird it wasn't included for awhile.
- [Solved] In the History UI, how can I show times in 12 hour format (AM/PM)?
Solution: I found this this bugzilla comment which links to this page for time formatting. I changed
intl.date_time.pattern_override.time_short

so it shows 4:26PM. There's an open bugzilla report for my issue: Date not formatted according to user's locale (LC\_TIME).For instance, 4:26PM instead of 16:26, I'm on linux (NixOS) if that helps.

- ublock ai slop list?
has anyone noticed pages that are just ai slop popping up recently? they have low quality information and serve no purpose but to waste time.
if you haven't experienced these, just search up a common tech problem and click on a generically named site. chances are, it will have a table of context and generally low quality writing. if you get lucky, there might also be some blatant lies in there(for example: this site claims garmin instinct watches have an sd card).
is there a ublock origin blocklist for these? thank you for suggestions.

- How do I copy wholesale my Firefox setup from my personal PC to my work laptop? [Repost from asklemmy bcos rules]
I'm sorry to those that seen this from asklemmy comm. Didn't read the rules. Reposting here.
Both are Windows machines. I know, don't need to preach about it.
I like how I set up the Firefox install on my PC and getting around to using it again for work because of multi account containers. Did the testing on my personal PC in case some things break with the hardening I chose for my threat model.
I just don't want to repeat the steps again, even if I already know what worked for me.
I found online that I could just copy the Firefox profile folder. Is that just it?
If it's the copy profile way, is the profile from a base Firefox compatible for other forks? If it's not the profile copying way, is the other ways compatible moving from base firefox to its forks?
TIA
- Latest update to LibreWolf 138.0.1-1 may have broken things. Here is a workaround.
Latest update to LibreWolf changed it's user agent string and it's causing websites to freak out. For example amazon will default you to a mobile website and Youtube music is having issues. To make matters worse if you try to download an extension to change the user agent string, it won't let you and tell you to download Firefox. You'll need to manually override the user agent string by going into about:config. You'll need to add general.useragent.override string into config.
Here is how you can do that: https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/how-to-change-your-user-agent/firefox
I changed my user agent string to following and problem went away.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:138.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/138.0
EDIT: Looks like 138.0.1-2 has been released. User agent string has been changed back and all is well. You should now delete the general.useragent.override
