It's for the Renaissance festival and it's not as comfortable as it looks.

The only not normal piece is the cloak with holes for arms.

Nay, that's merely a poncho; a square of fabric with a hole for the head. OP image is wearing an even cloak with arm holes over an otherwise normal but all black outfit.

Size has so little relevance to cost these days that there is no logical way to downsize. The mortgage doubles whether they sell and buy a house of the same size or one half as big.
