Whatsapp, telegram and Minecraft are centralized, so there's no way to have a two-way communication between someone on one of those and someone on the fediverse, whereas with the bridgy bridge it speaks native activitypub and native atproto and acts as the gobetween. There is not anything like this for any other type of bridge I have ever used. Now something like this could indeed be done with Matrix and there have been some attempts at this but I still haven't seen any of them work in practice
Would love to see a 3d recreation of as much as possible. Would be cool to go thru all the videos and documentation of it and build a real 3d world from that
A neologism my mother taught me as I was first learning to talk (and eat) was 'clurt'
If you are eating something that is drippy like yogurt or soup you need to clurt your spoon before you put it in your mouth. Grew up saying this and was always confused when people didn't understand what I was talking about
I am pretty happy with the chaos! I think as long as you are having fun building it keep pushing out stuff as you go and the people excited to use it will keep giving you feedback on whats broken
I agree that 'link aggregator' is a horrible term that is only relevant to nerds and shouldn't be used in any general user facing way as a description. I think this is the sort of thing that is really a collective failure of the fediverse and open source / free culture projects in general is how out of reach all of our lingo is to anyone not already in the in-group.
What is Lemmy's reason for not supporting them in Lemmy posts. That's so very non-intuitive, maybe getting them to rethink that design is worth it in the long run.
Super psyched this is working now. It makes the threadiverse much stronger as far as I am concerned!
